By Jennifer Stuart The Mint Julep Bar is a small counter service window located in the New Orleans Square area of Disneyland. At first it can be a little difficult to find, but you just need to go around the back of the French Market Restaurant. The menu is limited but this location is worth the effort to find. Despite the name of the restaurant this is no bar (alcohol is not served inside Disneyland). They do serve a non-alcoholic version of a mint julep that is very popular (Personally, I think it tastes like mouthwash - but I seem to be in the minority). We are big fans of the beignets and they are one of our must eat snacks every trip. You can buy them in a bag of 3 or 6 and expect to be wearing a good portion of the powdered sugar by the time you are done eating them. So worth it! Insider Tip: Shake the bag around really well before opening it to get the best coverage of powdered sugar. Look for specialty beignets around the holidays. Past favourites have been pumpkin, gingerbread, and "Lost Treasure Beignets" in honour of the 50th Anniversary of Pirates of the Carribbean. There is currently a blackberry flavour - which is a summer special for the re-opening of Fantasmic! Prices are reasonable for a snack, especially as they can be shared.
